Physical Fitness… Of The Martial Arts?

There was a time not that long ago that medical doctors and medical associations saw no reason to remain ‘physically fit.’  In fact, there was a time not that long ago that people went through their entire life without acquiring or increasing a single ounce of their physical fitness.

Of course that time has all but passed, but the point is that fitness existed long before all the recent exercise fads and latest workout crazes caught on.

So who knew about it way back when?

Martial Artists.

Here let me explain.

The original principle of physical fitness was provided by the martial arts hundreds if not thousands of years before the general population even realized there was a need for it.   And the Martial Art Principle of Fitness includes all elements of physical fitness, whether they continue to be recognized by modern day martial arts instructors or not. But these elements are not philosophical, unsubstantiated statements. They are principles that are immediately applicable.

Here Are The 6 Fundamental Principles of Martial Arts Fitness

  1. Strength
  2. Endurance
  3. Flexibility
  4. Coordination
  5. Agility
  6. Speed

Together these six principles constitute your Internal Fitness, a fundamental principle that is gravely unaccounted for by the vast majority of conventional fitness approaches.

But physical fitness is about more than just jumping high or running fast. Internal Fitness is about having incomparably strong internal actions that actually make you more fit (aka more strong) than any sickness, disease and injury.  Internal Fitness is about having the innate ability to resolve immediately any previous sickness, illness and injury on the spot in the same manner that you are able to defend yourself against any source of attack in the martial arts.

So while it is inappropriate to use martial arts techniques to harm our fellow humans, the martial art principle of Internal Fitness offers you complete readiness for absolutely anything and everything in your life.
